Let’s Create: Vintage Sled Decorating

Hello there! It has been awhile again! I am so sad to have Christmas over already, but I am also excited for what the new year will bring. I wanted to share a Let’s Create event I hosted awhile back. It is an item that will transition from Christmas décor right into Winter décor too. My childhood vintage sled sits on our front porch through February. I tend to do more seasonal décor rather than decorating for each Holiday so I love that this can be used beyond the holiday season.

A friend of mine notified me back in September when a customer of his dropped off seven vintage sleds for his resale shop. He contacted me immediately to see if I would be interested in them for one of my Let’s Create events. I loved how each one had it’s unique vintage character!IMG_20141119_173920_824

I gathered some ribbons & embellishments for the event from a variety of sources. I contacted a local tree farm to purchase a few evergreen bundles from. They were gracious enough to let me come before they opened for their seasonal Christmas tree rush. We used  rulers & paint sticks as a stabilizers for the evergreen swags. Floral wire, hot glue, and twine provided additional support for the greens and embellishments. IMG_20141119_174030_224

One of the things I love about hosting a monthly craft event is I get to see how of the ladies infuse their personality into each project. I loved seeing these lovely sleds go to new homes!

We loved the finished sleds so much that we decided to do this as a yearly event!
